DJ
Moyma is fast becoming one of the DJs to watch on the
Midlands scene.
Best known as a scratch DJ for some of the best young
hip-hop acts in the region he is widely respected for
his technical ability, eclectic taste and creative flexibility.
Another hip-hop all-rounder he is also a graffiti artist,
graphic designer and dancer.
Moyma designed the flyers for both the Tru School Antics
Tour (on which he also featured as a DJ) and BBoy Collective.
With an interest in cross-artform projects he performed
as part of Concrete Jungle and has recently finished working
on Urban Tribes - Punch's new dance/theatre production.
During Urban Tribes Moyma produced a ten minute performance
piece with Charlie Dark (Attica Blues, Blacktronica) entitled
'Beyond the Decks', featuring new music by Charlie and
Moyma and a live performance piece utilising a loop pedal
and one deck to build a track live in front of the audience.
Moyma travelled to the US in 2004 with Punch's assistance
to work with world reknowned DJ D-Styles. In 2005 he hopes
to travel to the US again to develop his skills and new
working relationships further. He will also continue to
work with Charlie Dark.
