Punch are pleased to present 'Nodding at the Back' - a new
exhibition by photographer Ian Reynolds featuring some of the
biggest names in hip hop.
Hip Hop Culture in Birmingham and Beyond
Over the past 20 years some academics and historians have claimed hip-hop culture has been hijacked by the conglomerates, and the new wave of MTV children who have diluted its authenticity. Preservation of culture is important and that's what inspired us to commission Ian Reynolds to produce this collection of images. This exhibition is by no means an A to Z of the Birmingham scene but a mere fraction seen through the eyes of one photographer.
Ian Reynolds is one of Birmingham's maverick images purveyors and has been a fan of the culture for many years. These images of local, national and international artists represent Ian's style and his charismatic approach which lets us have a peep at some of the most influential artists that somehow graced Birmingham.
