Latest News

•    The New Year brought exciting news from Buckingham Palace as our Director, Ammo Talwar, was awarded an MBE for services to the music industry and the community in the West Midlands. Ammo has worked quietly over the past 10 years to make a real difference to the lives of many young people and musicians and everyone at Punch HQ would like to congratulate him on this well deserved recognition!

•    Our ‘Bhangra: Birmingham and Beyond’ book continues to go from strength to strength and the official North West England launch will take place this Saturday 26th January. Members of the public are invited to join the author, Rajinder Dudrah, for an exclusive Q& A session at Waterstones, 32-36 Deansgate, Bolton BL1 1BL from 12 pm to 3pm. This is sure to be a lively event and an excellent opportunity to get your own copy of the book personally signed. The Brief

Create an advert for the BASS Festival highlighting this year’s theme of ‘The Four Elements of Hip Hop’ (BBoying, DJing, Graffiti, and MCing) as the design inspiration. The design should be bold, eye catching and unique, featuring the following text:

BASS FESTIVAL

The design must be your own original idea and although you will retain the intellectual property rights, Punch will own the copyright and right of use. All entries must be newly created and previously unpublished.

There will be a cash prize of £500 and the winning design will receive huge exposure by appearing for six weeks on billboards in a central Birmingham location.   The artist will also get one month’s exhibition space in a key Birmingham venue, as well as a launch event and PR support. Finally the lucky winner will get two full pages dedicated to their work, the project and their profile in the BASS festival brochure – of which there are 50,000 distributed nationally and internationally.
