U:ME was a day-long event in Oldham, Greater Manchester designed to provide young people from the North West with the opportunity to network and get advice from various people within the urban music industry. The day also featured workshops and opportunities to perform live.
The event was organised by Root Music, who invited three key organisations to host and program their own areas at the event - Punch, Trojan Records and BBC 1Xtra.
Punch's room featured panel sessions on hip-hop promotions and grime vs. hip hop, workshops in beatboxing, freestyle MCing and turntablism and an inspirational interview with DJ and production legend DJ Premier.
As well as managing to secure DJ Premier, Punch supplied a top UK lineup for their workshops and panel debates, with artists such as Ty, Fusion, Lethal B, Crazy Titch, Gemma Fox, Baby J and Jonzi D joining Punch artists Juice Aleem, Madflow, Roc1 and DJ Moyma.
